Doctors Appointment

We went to the doctors yesterday. Everything went well, except my BP check. When I first arrived it was 137/98. I was hooked up to the NST (non-stress test) and I'm still having contractions and baby is moving great! 


My official induction date is Wednesday 10/6 @ 6pm. 

Yes, I'm nervous. 

Do I want to be induced? No. 

However, I know I have no choice and I need to think positive about this situation. I'm nervous if I don't progress anymore than I have then I will end up either:
a) with a c-section 
b) have the longest labor EVER! Two of which I do not want. 


I was watching "Birth Story" today and a lady with preeclampsia was on and she ended up having a c section because she could not keep her BP down. Okay, I know I'm thinking of the worst possible scenarios, but it's hard not to! 


Moving on....

Before I left my doctors appointment my BP was down to 127/90. Still high, but it's okay. I go back Friday for another BP check and another NST. Then Tuesday for the same & they will check me to see if I have to go in Wednesday night or Thursday morning to the hospital.

If I'm not fully effaced I will go in Wednesday night, but if I am I will go in Thursday morning. The waiting game is on.....

Antepartum continued

On my last post about my trip to the hospital I left off with Friday night and waiting to hear from the doctors. I'll continue with that..

The doctor came in and told me I would not be leaving because I had 351mg of protein in my urine and the cutoff is 300mg. =( I was sad. I officially have preeclampsia, for those of you that don't know what it is, it is the most common "symptom" pregnant women can get. It's when you have high blood pressure, protein in your urine, headaches, etc etc. It can turn into something really serious if they don't catch it early on & help you control it.

I was sad I couldn't leave, but so thankful they caught this early on & it's not anything that's more serious.

On Saturday morning I had an ultrasound to check her growth and make sure she was good to be delivered if it came down to that. She is SO cute! Okay..maybe I'm a little bias, but look at those lips!! Her mouth was open & we watched her practice breathing! So neat! They estimated her at 7lbs 6oz already at 35 weeks! Good thing I am not going to 40 weeks, holy 9lb baby!

The doctor also decided on Saturday they wouldn't stop my contractions anymore (thank god because I hated the terb shot.) I kept having contractions all day/night. Around 10pm the nurse hooked me & Rylee up to the monitors and she saw I was having contractions so she decided to check me. I was 1cm dilated. She called the doctor and she told her to keep an eye on me and if I was dilated to 3-4cm to send me off to labor & delivery.

From about 11pm-4am Saturday my contractions were pretty strong. To the point where I couldn't get up to walk and just wanted to curl up in a ball. I'm sure that was nothing compared to what they will be when I'm in actual labor, but it wasn't comfortable. Unfortunately, I never got to 3-4cm. 

Sunday morning the doctor came in to check me and I was still 1cm, but now 50% effaced. She gave me a choice to stay at the hospital, or go home. Of course I picked the go home option. My blood pressure was still 147/90 which is high for me, but they also said they weren't sure if it was because I was having contractions or from the preeclampsia. They gave me strict bed rest orders & I was free to go home around 2pm! 

I can only get up to pee & shower and as long as I can keep my blood pressure down at home I can stay. If not I have to go back in to the hospital. They decided to induce me at 37 weeks, which is less than 2 weeks! Talk about a wake up call. I hope I can go into labor on my own before that because I do not want to be induced. 

When I got home I realized there is so much crap I want to do! I need to recheck Rylees bag and make sure I have everything since I packed it a while ago. I need to pack our bags. I need to get batteries for her swing and bouncer. I need to clean. Luckily, Jeremy started cleaning yesterday and he's been good about it! I have an amazing husband. He knows I can't do anything so he's doing it all plus working his 50 hour week while I sit on my butt all day..lol. 

I go back to to the doctors tomorrow and they will set my induction date...AAAH!! 

Antepartum

A lot has happened in 2 days!

Wednesday I had my normal 35 week check up & my BP was high (140/90), they sent me home & told me to call if I started getting headaches. Thursday morning I had this killer headache and they told me to come in at 3pm. When I went in my BP was 130/100 and they immediately admitted me to the hospital.

I go home, hysterically crying, called Jeremy & he came home from work. We packed bags and headed to the hospital.

We get here & they start asking about a million questions, start monitoring me & the dreaded blood work begins!  I started having contractions about every 10 minutes, they gave me a terb shot to stop them. It worked...for like 1 hour. They came back every 7 minutes. They gave me another terb shot. It worked....for about 1 hour. They let it go & gave me 2 ambien so I could get some sleep! I only got like 3 hours of sleep..maybe.

This morning I was having contractions every 3-5 minutes. This was the worst one.

They give me another terb shot along with IV fluids. 

I don't like this nurse. She is SLOW! I'll be glad when 7pm is here and she leaves. 

We're hoping to leave today. I have to wait until 6pm and they will send my urine off to labs to check for protein. If there's no protein I get to go home on bed rest. YAY! Well, not YAY about bed rest, but about being home! I want to sleep in my own bed & cuddle with Diesel! 

35 week bump update!

Today I am officially 35 weeks! Only 4 more appointments to go! AH!!! It's so crazy to think we will be parents NEXT month! I am not effaced or dilated any. My blood pressure was 140/90 which is high for a pregnant woman. They checked my urine for protein, but nothing. Then I had to sit there for a few minutes and recheck it & luckily it went back down! Top 2 Tuesday- Hair Products

1) Paul Mitchell Flat Iron. I definitely have a slight addiction to straightening my hair, but I can't help it! I used to have a Chi, but when I bought this flat iron it is the most amazing thing ever! I definitely 100% recommend it!

2. Matrix Sleek Shampoo & Conditioner. I cannot, no matter how poor I am one month, cannot skip out on this stuff! It is amazing & does wonders for my hair. I have the obnoxious, wild, curly hair & being in Florida the humidity doesn't help at all!

More in depth

I kept debating on doing this post, but really who doesn't like pictures and to know more about a person, right?! Ha! =) I hope to tell this story like I remember and pictures should help me along the way!

Jeremy & I met back in March 2007 & I wasn't a total train wreck, but I was almost there. Remember, he was the creepy guy that kept coming in Carrabba's and wouldn't leave me alone. ;-) He is (take a deep breath) 9 years older than me. It totally scared the jibbers out of me to begin with, but then I got to know the real person he was. I even ditched him on the first date!  This is me before I met him. 

I lived with my two girlfriends at the time, Keri & Andrea. Keri is still a really good friend of mine & she was a bridesmaid in my wedding & I was one in hers. She is now pregnant and is due in November, with a little girl! Hopefully they'll be best friends too! Meet Keri!

I moved out of the apartment and in with Jeremy about 3 months after we started dating, holy fastness (no, I don't think that's a word, but anything goes on my blog!). This was taken in July 2007.

This was Mother's Day 2007.

I finally turned 21, this is back in 2008. Don't mind the obnoxious birthday cake on his head & my entirely too drunk self.

We fell in love and he finally proposed to me; although, I was pretty hesistant to even date this dude to begin with. YAY!

Then, we got busy planning our wedding! But we can't forget the amazing 11 month engagement we had! 

Now...we're getting married! This is Krystine, whom I have known for..oh say..6 years. Wow!  She was also my bridesmaid!

Then, it was off to St.Lucia! AMAZING honeymoon EVER!

And, that leaves us with the baby news! No, we did not get pregnant on our honeymoon.

And this was our last ultrasound we had before we are able to meet Rylee!!

Really?!

Today we went to Cocoa Beach so Jeremy could surf since hurricane Igor is out there & causing huge waves. Of course I didn't sleep well because Saturday after I came home from my pedicure I decided to take a 3 hour long nap. Before I got pregnant I could sleep, sleep, sleep no matter what. Now my sleep is getting shorter & shorter. Last night I was up every hour or so..blah. Oh well..my fault only! =) 


Anyways, so we left this morning around 7am and I ended up getting burnt, go figure. Yes, I put sunscreen on, but preggo skin is even more sensitive! We had an umbrella, but the wind was so bad it decided to blow away and in turn knocked my chair over and yes, I fell too. Too bad I don't have a picture of it. You know when you fall in public and you always look around to see if anyone saw you, yes it was that kind of fall. I don't think anyone saw me..if they did they weren't too polite seeing a huge pregnant lady fall over & not offer to help! 

Then I saw this old man in a speedo..nothing out of the norm for Florida though...but, GROSS! Sorry for the poor quality pics these were of course taken with my phone.

I thought I'd post a little more in depth post this time, especially since yesterday I was at work while trying to set this up..oops.

Lastly, my adorable as ever nephew Ethan who was born premature at 4lbs 7oz, but is growing everyday! 

Now I must go and get a relaxing pedicure & manicure before my bones crack from being so sore, ah the joys of being pregnant!

First post!

I'm new to this whole blogger world, any help would be awesome! =)  I came from livejournal; although, I think I may keep it active since it has so many old memories in there that I like to go back and read.

I figured if you're reading this you'd probably want to know more about me..so here I go! Try not to get bored..

I'm 23. I've been with my friend, then boyfriend, then fiance, now husband for 3.5 years (holy crap has it really been that long?) We met when I used to work at Carrabbas. He was the creepy guy that would come in all the time to visit/eat and never leave, ha ha. At the time I met him I was sort of dating someone, but not really, you know one of those "flings" you have when you're 19 years old. He finally asked me for my phone number, he called, and I ditched him the first date. I felt bad, so the next day we get together & have been inseperable ever since! Awwww..how sweet, right? He is, by far, the most amazing guy I have ever been with. We rarely argue and when we do it's over something stupid and we are making up instantly.  We married on 11.07.09. Enough about him…on with this story...

Now, we are expecting our first baby! It's a girl! Her name will be Rylee Nicole. I am currently 34w2d pregnant & honestly can't wait to get this over with! I LOVE being pregnant, but it's getting hard and miserable. I can't wait to meet her & we're both getting anxious! I am due on 10.27.10.

I've been with Coca-Cola going on 3 years and I hate it. I used to like it..then I started dreading coming to work & now since I've been pregnant my tolerance has gone WAY down dealing with these idiots. Luckily, I will no longer be employed in 6 weeks, give or take.
