Life lately

Things have been crazy around these neck of woods.

Rylee is definitely, no doubt, 100% in terrible twos. I don't really know what terrible twos are suppose to be like, but I'm convinced.  Any time she doesn't get her way- she screams. Any time I tell her no- she either screams or will run and hide. Changing her clothes? Near impossible. I usually give up until she finally wants them on. Changing her diaper? That's becoming impossible as well. She screams and rolls all around. I usually have to pin her down with my leg just to put the diaper on. Getting out of the door in the mornings is a task in itself. I usually have to carry her out of the door because she will run & hide behind her crib. She never wants to leave, but drives me crazy if we stay in all day. Phew. Oh and nap times? She barely naps anymore. She still stays in her crib for 2 hours, but not all of the time does she fall asleep. She'll just lay there, roll around, cry a little and then start talking. Doing this all while 33 weeks pregnant is TOUGH!

I'm in my 5th week of my last semester for 8 months- thank god. I can't wait to just sit at home, clean, do nothing, take care of my babies. Nap when they nap.

I'm still working...2-3 days a week.  A lot of people keep asking me when I'm going to stop working and the answer is "I don't know." I don't hate working. I like it. It gets me out of the house and I have time to myself. It's only about 15 (max) hours a week so it's not too much. Jeremy asked me the other day how long I was going to take off and when I would go back to work...and since I wouldn't be in school that I could work a lot. I almost became a widow after that statement. I have busted my ass every day for the past year going to school full time, working part time & taking care of rylee all day, every day and he has the nerve to say that. I think he got the hint because he changed the subject immediately. Oh husband...sometimes I'd like to hurt him.

We have spent lots of time outside, at the zoo, aquarium, MOSI and decorating for fall! We are still in the 80s here, but that's nice compared to what it's been.

I've been stalking craigslist/facebook  for a while now in search of a new stroller. I finally found one! This lady only lived 20 minutes away and I scored a $750 stroller for $300! Rylee LOVES it! We had to test it out with the car seat and see how we liked it.

That's life lately. Busy as ever, but I love it. Rylee is almost two (can't believe it) and between everything else I've been planning her birthday party which is in a week and a half! Ah!

One day I will post pics of the nursery.

8 MONTHS!

Am I really 8 months?! 

32 weeks? 

Holy crap.

I can't believe in 8 weeks, give or take, she will be here & I will officially be a mama of 2! I hope I can handle this & the adjustment period goes smoothly.

The insomnia is totally kicking my rear end. It's unbelievable how exhausted I am and yet, I can only sleep for 4 hours..then I'm wide awake. The other morning it was 4am and the morning after that it was 2am. What is wrong with me?!

(Edit: the above was written a few days ago and since then my sleep has gotten much better! I did resort to taking unisom 2 nights and I slept like a champ, but I don't want to get in the habit. I've still been sleeping well without taking it so let's hope that continues.)

Everything else is going great, though.

The big reveal!

Jeremy & I have had a hard time coming up with a name for this baby. I suppose it's a little harder when #2 is the same sex as #1. We finally decided on a name a few weeks ago. He's the one that actually came up with it & since he's a lot more picky than I am, I decided to go with it.

We're still undecided on a middle name & he told me it was my job to pick that out..oh boy.

Ready to pop!

First, I want to give a huge shout out to my mom & sister Nicole for throwing this. It was so awesome & everything was planned great!

 

Down to the food- everything was a 'pop' theme. 

 My mom and I made the popcorn the night before- homemade Caramel popcorn & homemade white chocolate with m&ms. So delicious.

 These were the favor bags- pop rocks, blow pops and a few other things.

We had a decorating onesie station- that turned out perfect! She now has 8 new onesies to wear & they're pretty adorable. 

She was pretty proud of this adorable onesie. It says "I get my drama from my mama"

Rylee loved eating the popcorn- mainly the m&ms.

And I saved you all from most of the opening presents pictures, but here's a few.

Takin' it back old school

1. Tell us what kind of student you were in high school {popular, nerd, sport obsessed, choir, etc}  I didn't ever consider myself any of those types mentioned above. I did my own thing. I didn't play sports because I was too involved with partying & boys. I hung around the 'popular' kids and we skipped school a lot. Ooops. Somehow I still managed to be an honor graduate.

Hello, bad lighting.   2. Share with us some high school pictures. We know you have them somewhere.

Please tell me I'm not the only one that did glamour shots..HA HA. This makes me laugh.

 9th grade homecoming with our super cool disposable camera where the flash was obviously way too bright.
3. Tell us about your school. Private? Public? How many in graduating class? Mascots? School colors? I went to a public school and I have no idea how many were in my class- 500? Our mascot was a Raider and the school colors were orange and aqua. 4. Tell us about some of your favorite memories of high school. Or what stands out the most? Any teachers? Specific classes?  I loved, loved, loved my health science classes. Mainly because of my awesome teachers and the fact that we went to clinicals 3x a week so I wasn't even on campus for the first 2.5 hours. I had a great HS experience and I wouldn't change it for anything. I skipped a lot of school, but had a hell of a good time while doing so.  5. Tell us a piece of advice you would pass on to your children or any child entering high school. To seize the memories. Don't consume yourself with boys when you think you're in love because if, in fact, you are they will be there in 5 years. Get as many scholarships as you can & stay focused. 

31 weeks!

31 weeks..where has the time disappeared to?!

This little one is kicking/punching me like crazy. I can feel when she flips (let's hope she's head first!) I'm starting to get my energy back- well some days. I'm officially in the 'nesting' stage and wanting to clean/reorganize this entire house. Heartburn is still every single day, all day long. I hope she has lots of hair like Rylee did!  Sleep is better these days. I'm still waking up about 2-3 times a night to use the bathroom, but I'm actually able to go back to sleep. We had our maternity pictures (post to come soon!..meanwhile enjoy a peek) 

Show and tell; babies!

1. Tell us your favorite baby names? Aside from your own babies, if you have some :)

I'll be honest here and say I don't have a list of baby names that I 'love.' It's been so hard choosing names for us & obviously these were names that we both loved. I like Ryder & Emma for a girl and for a boy? I have no idea! I've never had to think about a boy name!

2. Show me your "dream" nursery {can be your baby's nursery or one that you love}
I'm still not 100% done with our nursery & I was hoping to be done by this post was live, but that didn't happen. Here are a few sneak peeks of it though.

This frame has since been taken down and lowered (my wonderful hubby thought it was a good idea to put it that high...uh no.)

These were taken a while back when we just finished painting so some stuff is different. I can't wait to show the big reveal!

3. How many children would you like to have? How far apart?

I want to have as many as we can financially afford & with that being said- we are done after #2 (unless we hit the lottery.) I love the idea of having lots of babies running around, but our pockets & my patience probably can't handle it. We want to be able to financially afford our kids college, weddings & whatever else may come up. I don't want the girls to pay for their college & wedding like I had to.

4. Tell us what you think the importance of parenting is?

I think the importance of parenting is BEING there for them. I see a lot of moms/dads that are so into buying the coolest/most expensive thing for their kids & yet they're not even present in their life. Kids need their moms/dads. They won't remember the most expensive present they received as a kid, but they will remember you playing with them for endless amount of hours & all of the laughs. I think a lot of parents forget about that. I hope our girls look back on their life one day and say 'I may not have had every toy out there, but I remember my mom and dad always dropping everything they could to do what was necessary.'

5. Show us your favorite newborn photo {can be your children or random}

Of course this is my baby because we all think our kid is the cutest, ever, right?! =)

 Looking back at these pictures- I think this is my favorite just because she still sleeps with her little mouth open like this.

6.  Tell us some things you promise to never do as a parent {and if you are a parent, did you stick to it}

My parents have showed me a lot on what not to do. I will never, ever put a man before my kids. My girls come first and always will.

Why I love Labor Day Weekend.....

.....because it's my birthday weekend...every year! This time the Big 2-5!

On Friday I got my windows tinted- thank god- because this Florida heat with non tinted windows SUCKS! It has made a huge difference & I love it!

Saturday we went shopping & got a few more things for the new nursery. It's finally almost done! I can't wait to post pics & not have to work on it anymore. We went out to dinner with Jeremy's parents to one of our favorite places.  (Can you tell she was excited?! ;) )

When you sign up for their birthday club you get a free dinner plus a few other things..including an embarrassing picture posted on their website.

Rylee used kid chopsticks for the 1st time & actually was able to get a piece of food in her mouth!

Sunday Rylee came running in the bedroom yelling "mama mama pwease." She was wanting me to get out of bed. It was adorable & how could I not get up?! We were taking the boat out and she was so excited! This girl LOVES the boat, being outdoors & swimming.

We look like a bunch of rednecks that have no idea what they're doing here, but you have to wear shoes in the Springs because it's so rocky. (I hate this picture of me..yuck)

The fish & game cops were out like CRAZY. I mean we literally saw 35 different ones within the day. We got 2 warnings..oops. :x Our friends that were in a different boat got 2 warnings & a ticket. Yikes!

 This was my expression when jumping in the cold, cold, cold spring.

 And we just floated..we didn't have a float for her so we used her turtle pool! It ended up working out great and she loved it.

She was so good the entire day. From being on the boat at 10am until 6pm she was a trooper and ended up falling asleep while we were driving. It was adorable even if I had drool running down my stomach.

I had a great birthday weekend! Spent it with good friends, awesome food & of course my little family!
