Am I alone?!

Rylee has entered a stage where if we don't do an activity every single day she goes nuts.  It's so draining on my part because I'm having to constantly buy new toys or something to entertain her. (While I know that's the whole idea of being a mom to an active toddler)

If she doesn't get her way, she throws a fit..on the floor, screaming a death cry.

Recently, I've been looking into a part time school for her. Something that is some what structured, but where she can have fun, interact with other kids her age & give me a little break. I'm only looking for 2-3 days a week for a couple hours, so nothing too drastic.

Today, we went & checked out a school that is 5 minutes from our house. I liked it. The teacher to kid ratio was 1-6, but they're expensive. It's $88 a week for Mon,Wed,Fri from 9a-12p. They provide snacks, but we provide lunch.

We also went to a Montessori school & it was a little cheaper, for the same times, but it's about 20 minutes away. Which means I would be spending more money in gas to drive back & forth 6 times a week.

Now I'm contemplating on getting a gym membership for her & maybe a Kindermusik membership. I'm so torn because I want to do what's best for her & I just don't know what it is! I want her to have interaction with other kids her age. I know she's sick of sitting at home. I need to get her into something because I want her to be able to have fun once #2 comes & hopefully make the adjustment period a little easier.

Anyways, for anyone that's been in my position before, do y'all have any advice?

18 months

I can't believe my girl is a year and a half!

Actually, 18.5 months now since this post has been delayed for a couple weeks.

Her words include: dada, mama, dog, bye bye, papa, uh oh & d dil (diesel)

She's a champ at sleeping- between 12-13 hours a night & about one 2ish hour nap a day.

She's smart & knows what you mean when you tell her to do something:

• If you tell her "let's brush your teeth" she runs to the bathroom & sits in her little corner waiting.
• If you ask her "where's your juice/sippy" she looks all over for it until her little eyes find it.
• If you tell her "let's go outside" she finds her shoes & tries to put them on- then she'll go get my shoes & hand them to me. 
• If you say "let's get dinner/lunch/breakfast" she runs over to her high chair & wants in it.

 

 I really can't believe how much she already understands. She loves to help me wash clothes, put dishes away or clean up. She also loves to make a huge mess, too.

Only 6 more months to plan her 2nd birthday! AH!!

Thursday randoms

• Rylee LOVES playing with her daddy!

• I made homemade lasagna the other night & well the turn out wasn't so great. The top layer of the noodles cooked fine & the first layer (closest to the bottom of the pan) did NOT cook! I even baked it longer than what I was suppose to. Overall it was tasty, just with not-cooked-all-the-way noodles..ha ha HELP?!

•   Last weekend was the Sun n' Fun & instead of paying $35 to get in we went over to my moms house & watched the show for free! Weee. See how close we were? Okay, not really..my zooms lens is just that awesome.

• Rylee finally got her wee squeak shoes in & she was terrified of them at first & now she loves them. They are so annoying though! haha

 

Liquid sidewalk chalk!

Rylee loves playing outside & loves chalk. Then I saw this liquid chalk..really?! I figured this would be such a messy time so she went outside naked because I didn't want to worry about her ruining any clothes. Naked+being outside+chalk= a happy toddler.

Of course she had to stick her hands in the cups & then knock them over..what fun is it if you don't make a complete mess?

And then we had to stick our feet in the chalk...

Oh, what fun. She was wondering what was on her at the end of this..

This is a must to do with your toddler this summer! It's virtually free as long as you already have the stuff in your cupboard like I do!

1 cup of corn starch

1 cup of water

Mix together & then add food coloring!

Weekend recap

Jeremy was out of town last week so Rylee & I had lots & lots of girl time. 

We played in the yard & she kept pointing to the birds in the sky. I love her. 

And this is her new hair style..1 piggy in & 1 out. I don't know why she always pulls 1 side out, but leaves the other in.

I always wonder what this sweet little mind is up to..

Saturday we played around with some shirts & had a fun day with nana. If you're interested in buying any 'bling shirts' let me know. (shameless plug) I can create any type of design/colors.

Sunday daddy was finally home & we had to go to a lame family reunion. It actually wasn't so bad. Rylee LOVED sitting on the tractor.

And playing with their 2 boxers. They were a little more rough than Diesel so she wasn't used to it, but they loved licking her all over. It was mighty cute.

I had to be mama bear and stand by her because they would knock her down in .2 seconds.

P.S. Where in the H did my boobies go?!

How was your weekend?!

Here I am!

I've noticed my blogs have been getting further & further apart. Shame on me. Having a new baby  is somewhat time consuming, who would have thought?! My lack of sleep was starting to get to me. We had been having a hard time getting her to sleep during the night. 

Jeremy thought he had found the trick. Putting her in the bouncer and rocking it. Yes, he has spoiled her. Last night we get to bed and he seriously puts the bouncer in the middle of the bed with her in it and rocks her to sleep. What a nice daddy. That only lasted 1 hour and then the one eyed monster (see why we call her that with the pics later) awoke! I feed her and sleep with her on the couch.

Today I figured why not try to put her on her stomach to sleep and see if this works. So I did and it worked! YES! I know, I know. You're not suppose to put babies on their stomach to sleep, but at this point I will do anything..well almost anything. I keep checking on her every minute or so..literally.

Saturday morning around 4am I get up to feed & change her. I put her on the changing table and she chokes a bit so I sit her up and she catches her breath. I lay her back down and she starts choking AGAIN, but this time is 100x worse. Her face turns red and she can't breathe. I scoop her up (with no diaper on because I was in the middle of changing her) and run into my bedroom to get her suction thing (I don't know the real name for this..) I turn the light on and wake Jeremy up..all while she is still choking and her eyes are puffy, and her poor little arms are flying everywhere. She's freaking out..right along with me. Thankfully, Jeremy was the calm one and suctioned whatever crap (it was almost mucous-y type stuff) she was choking on out of her nose and mouth. I'm still holding her..diaper-less and she decides to pee on me! It went all down my leg and on the floor. I tried catching it with my hand, but that didn't work. Silly girl. I thought I would be the calm one..but nope. She hasn't done it since..thank god. I'm praying she doesn't.

We are off to Georgia tonight until Sunday night..which is also our anniversary and Rylee's 1 month birthday! Party time :) Hopefully Jeremy wins this fishing tournament and we come home with a new boat. Praying time!

Everyone keeps saying Rylee looks like Jeremy. I'm not saying who is who, obviously Rylee is in the middle. Who do you say she looks like? The left or right?

Bath time

They say when you have a baby your entire life revolves around them. To a point, I know this is true, but how much of it is true?

I'm still in school and I will slowly, but surely get this done! I know it's only been 2 weeks (oh my gosh, it's 1:17 which means she is 2 weeks and a few minutes old!) I just have NO motivation to do anything anymore! All I want to do is sit and stare at her all day long, or cuddle with her when she's sleeping. She is so stinkin' cute. I love her little grunts she makes or when her face turns a beat red when she's trying to poop and when she sticks her little tongue out.

Right now she's sitting in her bouncer and she keeps moving and kicking..she's trying to fall asleep. That makes me want to go over and grab her and go to sleep too. =)
