So..with that being said...
When was YOUR family ready for #2? How did you know? Did you just 'let it happen'?
Jeremy & I have talked about this a few times- because let's face it- he is not getting any younger by the second. He is 36 years old and while I still have plenty of time for #2..he does not. I've always said I wanted my kids to be close in age because my sister & I are 6 years apart and we never got along when we were younger & now? We really don't either. Jeremy & his brother are 14 months apart & they were best friends growing up & still are pretty close.
However...I'm still in school for nursing & ideally would love to finish before we introduce another family member, but I won't be done for at least another 3 years. That will make Jeremy 40!!! To me- that's too old to have a baby. While I know people are having babies later in age now- I don't want to Jeremy to be that 'grandpa' at middle school dropping his kid off.
So- I don't know what to do! Do we just 'let it happen' like we did with Rylee? Do we wait until I'm out of school? So many decisions!
And if you know me,
you know I can't leave a pic out of a post!
No advice here, because my baby is 14 months old and I am NOWHERE NEAR ready for #2! I want more kids, and I'm already 30 - so I can definitely hear my clock ticking...but it'll probably be another year or so for us :) I have to be ready to be pregnant again, SICK again, give BIRTH again...if you're ready for those things, then go for it! If not, it's ok to wait!
ReplyDeleteso interesting you wrote this... because during our walk this morning... i was thinking about writing the exact same post about when baby number 2 will come.
ReplyDeletejust follow your heart :)
Yes, definitely follow your heart, its the same as #1- is anybody ever really ready for a baby, let alone a second?
ReplyDeleteSteven and I weren't exactly trying with Aiden but we weren't being careful either, we weren't being careful for 9 months when I ended up with a positive. And when he was 7 months old, I thought "maybe we should try for number two because it might take forever again and I want them to be close in age"... about a week and a half later, I changed my mind. But I was already pregnant! It actually took me awhile to enjoy my pregnancy because I felt like I betrayed Aiden, I was taking me away from him by having another baby.
But almost 2 years into being a Mommy of two, its so fun! Its crazy, as you know, but I love how close in age they are. I actually think Aiden was the perfect age, he was old enough to realize there was a baby around but still too little to get horribly jealous.
With school and everything, its a hard decision for you- I've put off so much to stay home but as soon as they're in school, I'm getting stuff done! If they were further apart in age, that'd be more time I'd have to stay home and not do stuff.
Soo many decisions you and Jeremy have to make. Good luck! And whatever decision you make, it'll be the right one. :)
