just selling my wedding dress?
I did.
I have been contemplating this for almost 2 years now & the right opportunity person came along. I was going to keep it for Rylee, but let's be real, who would wear their mom's wedding dress? I know I wouldn't. In 20 or so years she will not like the way my dress looks. It's sort of bittersweet, but I'm selling it to a friend & I know she will take good care of it. I wasn't one of those crazies that spent 1k+ on a dress either so I don't mind. Maybe if I had spent a small fortune on it then my decision would be different.
I haven't even had it cleaned from our wedding 2 years ago. It sits in the bag & honestly I don't want to pay to have it preserved or whatever it is that you do to those things. I'm happy to be helping a friend out & she LOVES it!
So, farewell wedding dress, I will sort of miss you.
That's a beautiful dress!
ReplyDeleteMy mother made mine. The zipper broke on it at my second reception. I think my mom still has my wedding dress.... But from the scraps, she made blessing day outfits for my sons and daughter. I thought that was a nice way to keep my wedding dress, useful? lol!
Good for you for letting go! I know that has to be hard. I still have my prom dress. Yikes!
Eek! I always wonder if what I'd do if I'd had a "real" wedding dress. I still have my prom dresses too. :\ I keep everything, pack rat!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!!! I love that dress. I have mine preserved but I have the same thoughts- is my daughter really going to wear mine. Probably not. Anyway, took your button on my blog I love page:) have a happy wednesday!
